This property was reserved by Harbour Academy I'm from Texas, USA. Harbour Academy Thank you for your interest in Harbour Academy. Harbour Academy provides a home school curriculum for students who are unable to attend a public or private high school for whatever reasons. The academy maintains high standards for the educational services provided enrolled students. All the curriculum was written by state certified teachers, supervised by an official with a Masters of Education degree and a consultant with a Doctor of Education. The official and consultant remain on retainer to review and update the curriculum. Once the student completes all course requirements and other requirements, the student will receive a high school diploma from Harbour Academy. The academy offers TAAS, SAT and ACT guides, information, and tutoring course work. The home school course is a set curriculum. Any change must move to a higher level course and be approved by the school official or consultant. Take note that the college entrance examination for the state you reside must be taken and all parts passed ACT or SAT must be taken and scores of 13 on ACT or 1000 on SAT must be scored. The time to complete the course work for a high school diploma is determined by the student. There are approximately 10 lessons per credit or 420 lessons and a minimum of 42 major test that must be passed with a score of 80 or better. If a student completes one lesson every two weeks, except for holidays and summer vacation, a student would earn credit every 5 months. A student may not take more than 8 courses at one time. A student may chose to take one course at a time. If he/she chooses this option the student should complete four lessons each week to finish on time. There is no set time line for a student to finish the course work. A student may finish as many lessons as time and ability will allow. Remember a student must make at least an 80 on final examination. If a student has attended a high school before enrolling in Harbour Academy all course work successfully completed will honored at the Academy when a transcript is furnished by the school with the students name, date of birth, social security number and a numerical grade on the transcript. The first required course is English I. After this course is successfully completed the student work will be evaluated and a course of study will be recommended. A textbook is required for most course work. A student may purchase the textbook, lease the textbook, rent the textbook, or find the textbook at a library. Leasing the textbook, a student pays the price of the textbook plus shipping. When the textbook is returned, 80% of the price of the textbook will be applied to the textbook. Some coursed will require more than one textbook for the next course. All textbooks are on the latest state of Texas adopted textbook lists. As the books go out of adoption and the state adopts new books, the curriculum will change to reflect the new textbook and any change in the state requirements. The cost of the school is set by courses. A $25.00 enrollment fee is required to begin the program. Each lesson costs $5.00 plus shipping and handling. The average cost of a credit course is approximately $50.00. If a student or parents are online, course work can be set by Email saving time and money.
